The Kyiv Independent: Stolen generation

The Kyiv Independent journalists identified children abducted from Donetsk region and handed over to Russian families

In May 2022, 31 Ukrainian children were deported from occupied Donetsk to Russia under the guise of rehabilitation - at least 14 of them were placed in the care of Russian families after the so-called holiday.

This is stated in the investigative film "Children for Putin" - Uprooted by the war crimes investigation department of The Kyiv Independent, whose media partners are Ukrayinska Pravda and Public Broadcasting.

The journalists identified 20 children from the list. Some of them had lived in Mariupol and the surrounding area before the full-scale invasion.

On 18 July, the film Children for Putin was presented on The Kyiv Independent's YouTube channel 👉 https://cutt.ly/vwpHQBXb. And from 25 July, the film will be available on the platforms of Ukrayinska Pravda and Public Broadcasting.
